Companies can customize the cover of the upcoming book signed by culinary writer Cosmin Dragomir

Jjournalist and food writer Cosmin Dragomir announces that his next volume: the collector of charms, which will be published this autumn, can have a personalized cover for companies that want to buy the book to give as a gift to employees, clients or partners. The money raised will be used to partially fund ongoing culinary research projects.

The sarmale collection is a collection of gastronomic texts (some unpublished, some published on various media channels during the period 2017-2023). The volume will be published this fall, in a paperback format made of thick cardboard, suitable for corporate gifts and more.

"I think it is both an opportunity for companies to support gastronomic research and a win-win partnership. I'm not asking for money, but selling a product that adds value to a brand and can be seen as a marketing/promotion investment as well as CSR. It is a book that talks a lot about the Romanian gastronomic identity, about the profile industry, about our culinary history, written so that it is accessible to anyone.

It is also an exercise through which companies can show that they care about culinary research and gastronomic identity. If I had invested the money spent on books in recent years in advertising on social media, now I would also be an influencer with tens of thousands of followers, but I prefer to remain a library mouse and believe that writing and books are not dead or have only museum value. Perhaps a book like this can replace the classic brownies and chocolates in gift baskets and become a different business card for businesses. I think that any category of reader can learn new information from this volume", declares Cosmin Dragomir.

Cosmin Dragomir is one of the best-known culinary journalists in Romania, the author of the volume "The curator of sausages and other Romanian gastronomic stories” (out of print), co-author of the volume “Sweet Romania, a history of our desserts” and author of hundreds of profile articles published on various media channels.

He set up gastroart.ro – the first magazine dedicated to researching the history of Romanian gastronomy and hospitality and the GastroArt publishing house specialized in the valorization of the local culinary heritage. The most recent publication is the volume: Zămuri - soups, soups and stews, Transylvanian recipes from old people by Mircea Groza available in Cărtureşti bookstores.

He is a co-initiator of the law National Gastronomy and Wine Day in Romania and of the National Gastronomy and Wine Congress

He has organized dozens of debates, workshops, multidisciplinary communications and events with a gastronomic theme, including Romanian Gastronomy and Wines Gala with the presence of over 60 guests from the diplomatic corps.

Podcast host Tasty Memories by Cronicari Digitali (webstock 2022 – second place Best Branded Podcasts for Electrolux, June 2023 – the most listened to gastronomic podcast in Romania and the Republic of Moldova)

Prizes: Gault & Millau, National Association of Tourism Chefs and Pastry Chefs, National Association of Travel Journalists, HoReCa School

The funds raised from this book will provide part of what is needed to continue the research projects currently underway:

The most extensive study of regional comparative gastronomy in the Balkans (which involves spending at least 10-20 days in each Balkan country) together with Cristian Iohan Ștefănescu

Volume: On the cusp of a hangover – a history of belly soup and nothing else

Volume: The Universal Encyclopedia of Sarmals

Research: Index of potential local and regional gastronomic brands
