The peasant and the blogosphere: Lucian Dragomir, producer of organic vegetables goes to school on the Internet

ITucian Dragomir is a certified organic vegetable producer from Brașov, known mainly for the brand: At Jarcan. Recently, the responsible peasant - as he calls himself - launched luciandragomir.ro/ a blog where he describes all his experiences: from cultivation tips to untangling the related red tape.

Lucian Dragomir produces vegetables for some of the best-rated restaurants in Romania and recently entered into a partnership with TeamFresh HoReCa to whom he entrusted the entire distribution. He is an authorized organic vegetable producer since 2018, the first in Brașov. He owns a small farm, the cultivated area 3400 sqm of which 900 sqm are protected spaces (solar areas), in the village of Vad, Şercaia commune, and he "made a career" thanks to his vegetables which are appreciated and used by some of the most important chefs from we.

On the blog, he aims to chronicle all his farming experiences from seedling tips to vegetable history to red tape advice to original recipes. Lucian Dragomir also offers specialist consultancy in organic agriculture.

"During my childhood lived in the block, I had to spend the summers separately. My playmates were missing when school ended, and they were going to visit their grandparents in the country. Confused, with the innocence of my age, I ask my mother: "Where do we have our "country"?" The mother's answer: "On Avram Iancu or on Karl Marx (now Maniu)", the grandparents from both parents' side lived two bus stops away, no. 22, in the center of Brașov! I saw the first cow when I was 8 years old when I received my first zoological atlas!

Through a series of more or less happy events I had to be more careful about what I eat! My mental makeup - I must be in absolute control - made me produce my own food! Since the Romanian diet is omnivorous, with a higher emphasis on vegetables (read weeds), I timidly started to grow them!

After 2 years of amateurism, I moved on to creating some solid things! The garden of the old house of the wife's family from Vad and the establishment of a commercial company with the registration of the name La Borcan with the idea of turning it into a brand! In my opinion, at the time when the final line is drawn, I must have done the following: to pay for a tree, to have created a brand with some recognition and to have left something written about them!", confesses the vegetable grower.
